May 22 – Part 3

I am a slowly dying medium
and soon my hair will be dead henna red,
they taught me well, last summer
last summer with a bouquet of labour
that needed a vase and watering,
a little love and sheltering,
some salt and pepper seasoning,
(and thanks for the bedroom company;
somewhat blonde, but at least, not bland,
it was nice and I mean that, thanks. )

and that sounds trite ( does it sound trite?),

but after the ocean collapses the sun
my slices of briefly paired body,
will likely still remember you,
collar bone jutting against me
and my softer parts,
and the memory of morning.
